The Issue

Although new technologies have the potential to enhance learning and deepen understanding, this is not assured simply by their use. Successful integration of new technologies into learning environments requires pedagogical changes by teachers. What pedagogies and technologies are most appropriate to this end for use with younger children? How do we successfully integrate new technologies into learning environments? What pedagogies and technologies should we employ when working with young children?

The context

This wikispace will address the above stated issues that early childhood teachers confront when working with new electronic technologies. We will examine the context of 3 - 8 year old students. Teaching philosophies explored are those that support a social constructivist view of learning and its integration in the classroom. How can we support these teachers? We invite teachers to consider this wiki as an ongoing source of information. Please add appropriate thoughts and comments for the benefit of learning.
