This section explores teaching practices associated with a social constructivist view of learning and the successful integration of technology within this context.

The following Five Standards for Effective Pedagogy developed by the Center for Research on Education Diversity and Excellence (CREDE, 2002) are based on a social constructivist view of learning and are a useful foundation to examine pedagogy for successful technology enhanced learning.

E-potential

The Victorian Education Department has developed a resource to help teachers develop their skills in integrating IT into their teaching practice called e-potential. Their Continuum of ICT Capabilities guides teachers in analysing and improving their skills and practice.

Educational Technology Standards for Students

Thes standards formulated by The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE, 2007) outline what the students should be doing and provide a framework for teachers to use in planning and assessment.
